Antique wood is wood used in construction prior to 1908. It is quite durable and very beautiful with the best patina. Furniture can be crafted to be one of a kind by skilled tradesmen. What a great way to go green!

If the wood is teak, it likely won’t require more than the oil, as teak has natural anti-mildew properties. Any other type of wood, I would consider a marine spar varnish.
