This is a close up shot of our sliding saw.It is a must have tool if you are building kitchen cabinets. This is the first machine that sheet goods hit in our Ramona shop. This saw has two blades and they oppose each other. The main blade is spinning clockwise and the scroll blade is spinning counter clockwise. The scroll blade is only cutting about a 1/16 deep kerf, just enough so that when the main blade comes through there is no blowout on the backside of the material. The is especially important with melamine. The fence system is set so you can cut from the right or left fence and the table slides with the material on it through the blade. This saw has been in use since 1989. I bought it when we still got tax credit for machinery investments.

What a concept! The government encouraging business investment by allowing tax credits!!!??? That would allow companies to become more efficient, produce better products more efficiently. Why that would lead to higher profits and create jobs which would be a source of taxes that the government could use to spend on important projects.
Too bad in today’s political climate it is only a pipe dream.
