Before going all out on repairs, try “Chairlock” from a hardware store. Inexpensive & works well if the joints are in decent shape. Really rickety joints should be knocked apart & reglued. Oil will cause problems if regluing is necessary Tighten any screws you see. Rock on.

Place a strip of adhesive tape along the bottom of the rocker. That should help.
