There are three different count top heights in this kitchen. Since this is a great room exposed to the dining and living areas, a separation of space was created with the highest counter top that also shielded the stove. The front counter is a dining height, perfect for quick meals or kids doing their home work and crafts while mom prepares a meal. What makes this work so well is the way the granite is used on the entire back splash. The continuous back splash wrapped around the stove area with cut outs for the electrical outlets and finished off the to the lower dining level. The corner window sills were also made in the granite. Tomorrow we will show a new granite installation where the owner is using tumbled tile instead of a granite for the entire back splash.
