As I stated yesterday we are now doing kitchen cabinets and furniture for Ramona and San Diego in antique barn wood. This is the last piece out of this pile of wood., The other two have sold and we are down to this one. The oak barn wood that we had for the first group that we did was from Missouri, the trees for this barn were cut in the late 1800’s . The barn was dismantled in 2006. The wood then goes through a couple of steps before it gets to me. They power wash remove all nails and metals and the it is kiln dried. This piece is finished with my hand rubbed eco friendly finish. Of course a piece like this has to have dovetailed drawers with Blum soft close hardware. Wait till you try to pick up this one. free-kitchen

Usually kitchen is best to do the floor first and then the cabinets. Putting flooring up to the cabinets would mean you’ll have a harder time removing appliances, like the dishwasher and fridge, if they ever need to be taken out and replaced. You’d have to lift the appliances over the lip of where the new flooring meets the appliance and that would be hard to do. It also is best to do flooring first because if you remodel in the future, you won’t have to worry about patching in new flooring if you decide to change the configuration of the kitchen cabinets.
