Reclaim And Reuse

September 2nd, 2008

Re-claim and re-use makes sense. Reclaiming good wood from old buildings and making it into beautiful new furniture and cabinets saves space in landfills and preserves trees.
You also get a truly unique, one of a kind piece proudly displaying the aged patina, nail holes, cracks and chiseling of well used wood. Preparing wood for reuse is labor intensive. All nails must be removed, then the wood is typically air dried and/or kiln dried. Treated properly, furniture and cabinets made from reused wood offers many more generations of use and beauty.
